Highly
Aromatic, Spreading Plant is a Garden Joy!
This
3-foot-tall plant really takes off, perfuming the air and offering great
flavoring for jellies.
Sweetly
aromatic spearmint can be used in both cooking -- in the well-known mint
jelly and sauces -- and in potpurri and other fragrant decorative items.
This perennial grows to 3 feet tall and spreads
rapidly to indefinite widths.
The 2-3 1/2 inch lance-shaped leaves are a unique
wrinkled texture. Oblong terminal spikes of lilac-pink to white flowers
appear all summer.
Like other mints, spearmint is extremely easy to
grow. In fact, it grows so well, it is best to confine it to containers.
Grow in almost any soil conditions in sun or part shade, harvesting
leaves all season long.
